Library Foundation of Hillsboro

Established in 1989…

The Library Foundation of Hillsboro has sought private support to enhance library resources, services, programs, and facilities. It promotes the Hillsboro Public Library as a unique educational, informational, and recreational focal point for our community.

The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, separate and independent of city government. The Foundation supplements city funding of operations. A carefully developed and approved investment policy guides the Board’s financial decisions.

The Board of Directors meets regularly to discuss Foundation efforts and activities, to continue investment planning, and to hear updates on library needs.

All great communities have excellent libraries, and all excellent libraries have advocates. In Hillsboro, the most active of these is The Library Foundation of Hillsboro. This organization's primary purpose is to provide financial support to the library for items not able to be funded through the normal city budget process. The Hillsboro Public Library serves as a community gathering place where patrons of all ages and ethnic backgrounds will find educational and entertaining material to enhance their lifestyles. The Foundation is committed to providing the necessary support to ensure this will continue to happen.

- Jerry Willey, Past President, Library Foundation of Hillsboro
